"Sierra"

Sierra came to me through a leased bitch, Ch Shadaglen Loves A Storm CD HX. This was Hurri's last litter of which only two puppies survived. She was the most intelligent collie I have ever seen. Her "wheels" were turning before she was weaned to try and be one step ahead of "her human". She gave me Kit, CH Sinkona's Miss Kitty PT OA OAJ in her only litter.

She was a "hit" in the breed ring (although I did not get the chance to show her very much). Taking her picture when she won was even harder because she wanted to leap at whatever was thrown so the timing had to be perfect.

She earned her agility and obedience titles easily. The obedience title was a bit nerve racking because at her first show (our collie specialty) on the long sit she had a male get up and come over to try and "breed" her. It took the judge and a steward both to get him off and she never broke her sit. This was amazing, as she did not like dogs in her "space" and usually told them so. She qualified that day and the next two trials the next weekend.

She earned her herding title even though she was sick, her drive and want to was so strong.

She took over as "leader of the pack" when Daiquiri died with out even a lifted lip and no one even questioned it. When she got ill, it broke my heart and even though we tried she could not be saved and I had to let her go. Even weak and sick that last day she wanted to play with me and wanted to be by my side. She was in my arms at the end and I know that her essence lives on through her daughter and grandchildren. She was my heart and my soul mate and I was extremely lucky to have her.

"If tears could build a stairway
if wishes made a lane
I'd have walked right up to heaven
to bring you home again"
Your time with me was much to short
I miss you....
