RANGER

We were breeding for a smooth girl. On President's Day in 2002, two girls and one boy were born; all were roughs (of course!). The two girls were not what we were looking for and found new homes quickly. Then there was one.

He was "sold" a couple of times but, for whatever reason, the sales were never completed. At four months of age we started to really look at him and one day it was decided, Ranger would stay. Tanya became his "mom", as he was the son of her first collie (Arrow) who had since retired from performance life.

He began his career as a show dog and finished his championship with a major, going BOW, BOS before turning three years of age. Now, his performance career is in full swing. He loves to "play" in the performance venues and has earned agility titles, herding titles in AKC and AHBA. He is being trained for competition obedience. Tanya aspires to take him all the way to a UDX! After earning his Agility Excellent titles in the fall of 2006, he is Tanya's first dog to go for the Masters titles and, hopefully, a PAX (Performance Agility Excellent- the equivalent to a MACH for preferred dogs).

Ranger is quite spoiled by his many fans that cheer him on, giving him special treats and oohs and ahhs. He is a "talker" and our resident "kitty watcher". Even though we weren't looking for a boy dog, he was Arrow's gift to Tanya (Arrow died when he was nine months old). He has sired several litters. His son, Paden, "Sinkona Silverado," is pointed and will be making his performance debut shortly.
